Fire in Nicosia District Under Control

A forest fire broke out this morning in the area of Pera Orinis community, in the Nicosia district. According to an announcement by the Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, the fire started on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 10:45.

The immediate intervention of the forest firefighting forces resulted in the fire being brought under full control at 10:53, having burned a small area of dry grass and shrubs. 5 people from the Department of Forests participated in the extinguishing operation with 2 fire trucks.

The causes of the fire are under investigation.
