Fire in Tsada: Investigation into Illegal Dump as Possible Cause

A fire that broke out in the Tsada area was brought under full control late Sunday afternoon. According to fire service spokesperson Andreas Kettis, the fire burned approximately one square kilometer of dry grass, wild vegetation, and trees.

Firefighting forces remain in the area to prevent flare-ups. The fire was contained in time, protecting homes in the Tsada community.

Andreas Kettis reported that there is preliminary information that the fire started from an illegal dump. The Police and the Fire Department will investigate the incident, with "point zero" being crucial for the investigations.

DIKO MP Chrysanthos Savvidis congratulated the fire service and forestry department for their efforts.
