Fire in Tsada, Paphos: Battle with Flames, Homes Threatened

A large fire has been raging since Sunday afternoon in the Tsada area of Paphos. Firefighting forces are making great efforts to bring the multiple fronts under control.
Reportedly, a resident refused to leave her home, which was threatened by the flames. The timely intervention of the Fire Department and Civil Defense led to her rescue.
Strong winds changed the direction of the fire, and in some places, the flames crossed the road, making the work of the firefighting forces even more difficult.
Vehicles from the Department of Forests, Civil Defense, the Game Service, and volunteer teams are participating in the extinguishing operation. Firefighting helicopters and planes have also been used, and the National Plan "PYRSOS" has been activated.
The Director of the Department of Forests, Savvas Iezekiil, told CYBC that the fire is heading towards extinction and that the forces are on the right track.
The fire consumed shrubbery and wild vegetation.
