Omodos Fire Started from Rubbish

Yesterday's fire in Omodos appears to have started from a small amount of rubbish near the road, according to Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis.
Mr. Kettis stated that firefighting forces remain on standby in the area. The fire burned approximately one hectare of dry grass and scrub, and the yards of three houses were slightly affected.
The Fire Service is on increased alert due to the orange warning for extreme temperatures. Mr. Kettis appealed for caution and timely notification of the authorities.
