Forest Fires in Lysos and Drouseia Under Control

The Department of Forests announced that forest fires in the communities of Lysos and Drouseia in the Paphos district were brought under full control on Friday, August 15.
The fire in Lysos started at 15:58 near the Prophet Elias church and was controlled at 16:20, having burned 0.5 decares of wild vegetation. 7 people from the Department of Forests participated with 2 fire trucks.
In Drouseia, the fire started at 16:23 at the Manierides – Lassi location and was controlled at 16:30 before it spread. 5 people from the Department of Forests participated with 1 fire truck, as well as 4 leased aircraft.
The causes of the fires are under investigation.
