Rhodes: 16-year-old injured at amusement park – What he and the company say

An accident at an amusement park in Rhodes resulted in the injury of a 16-year-old. According to him, he was thrown from the "tray" ride and hit a wall.
The 16-year-old described his experience to MEGA: "While it was going very fast, I saw people flying back, falling down and the seat breaking." He claims that he was then thrown into the air and hit a wall before ending up behind the ride.
The company that manages the amusement park, through its lawyer Stelios Alexandris, claims that there was no mechanical failure and that the accident was caused because the children were standing. "According to the company's mechanic, there was no damage. The only reason the incident occurred is that the children were upright. As soon as the operator realized this, he stopped the machine," said Mr. Alexandris.
The 16-year-old's father, responding to the company's claim, stated: "Since it is clear in the video that they were sitting, now if some other group elsewhere stood up, I don't know."
The municipality of Rhodes has put a "lock" on the amusement park until the facilities are rechecked.
