Emergency Kit: Guidelines from Civil Defense

The Civil Defense reminds citizens of the essential items that should be included in an emergency kit, amidst current developments.

According to the Civil Defense announcement, the kit should include: water, whistle, personal hygiene items, warm clothing, long-life food, flashlight, first aid kit, batteries, portable charger, portable radio, multi-tool, dust mask, and cash.

The Civil Defense advises citizens to locate the nearest shelter through the SafeCY app or contact the Operations Control Center at +357 22 403 451 or +357 22 403 452.

In case of emergency, sirens will sound, and announcements will be made via radio and television. If there is no nearby shelter, citizens are advised to stay in safe indoor spaces. If outdoors without shelter, it is recommended to lie face down on the ground and cover their head.

The Civil Defense assures that it remains in constant operational readiness.
