SHDYKEK PEO: "Administrative Chaos" at ONEK

SHDYKEK PEO denounces "administrative chaos" prevailing at the Cyprus Youth Organization (ONEK) for months. In a statement, the trade union calls on the Government and competent institutions to intervene to ensure the smooth operation of the Organization.
SHDYKEK PEO requests the immediate filling of vacant positions on the Board of Directors, the filling of the position of Executive Director, the resolution of pending labor issues, ensuring compliance with the Collective Agreement, the approval of the budget, and the investigation of any irregularities.
According to the announcement, ONEK has been headless for 7 months without a Board of Directors and for 5 years without an Executive Director. Poor relations between members of the Board of Directors and staff, confusion of responsibilities, and exceeding of responsibility by the acting executive director are also noted.
SHDYKEK PEO also mentions non-compliance with contractual obligations and non-implementation of provisions of the Collective Agreement, as well as delays in budget approval, jeopardizing the operation of youth programs and employee salaries.
The organization expresses concern about the lack of substantial response from the competent Ministry despite being informed of the problems.
