The continuous violation of relevant legislation is bringing about thoughts of even abolishing scooters, a topic that is returning to Parliament for discussion.

Speaking on the Alpha Kalimera show, the President of the Ecologists, Stavros Papadouris, explains the usefulness of scooters but also the dangers that exist from their incorrect use.

Mr. Papadouris proposes the creation of a special registry for scooters, so that they can be registered and the owner can be identified, as well as the existence of insurance coverage against third parties.

He also emphasizes that in many cases scooters are left on sidewalks, hindering the passage of pedestrians and people with disabilities.

It is noted that there are thoughts of even abolishing scooters since the law is not applied, resulting in endangering the lives of their drivers and, more broadly, road users.
