SOS for Blood Reserves: Risk of Surgery Postponement

Blood reserves in Cyprus are at dangerously low levels, according to statements made to ΚΥΠΕ by the Head of the Blood Center, Androulla Panagiotou.

Ms. Panagiotou issued an urgent appeal to the public to visit blood donation stations to donate blood, as there are serious shortages due to summer vacations.

She emphasized that there is an immediate risk of surgery postponements and potential rescheduling of transfusions for patients who need them.

Blood donation stations in Nicosia and Limassol will be open from 07:30 to 20:00, while those in Paphos and Larnaca will maintain the full-day schedule, except for external blood donations. Next week they will be at the Mall of Nicosia.
