Work Stoppage at Nicosia General Hospital

Secretarial and clerical staff at Nicosia General Hospital, belonging to the Isότητα union, will hold a work stoppage on Thursday, September 4, at 10 a.m.

According to the union's branch council, the staff will gather outside the hospital, demanding the immediate revocation of the decision to terminate secondments.

The union believes that the Ministry of Finance's decision constitutes adverse discrimination, as permanent employees performing identical duties remain seconded without any time limit.

The Isότητα union states that the removal of experienced employees will degrade patient service and endanger the smooth operation of public hospitals.
