Desalination Unit Contract at Limassol Port to be Signed on Tuesday

The contract for the installation of a mobile desalination unit at the Port of Limassol is expected to be signed on Tuesday, with the aim of being operational by January 2026. This was announced by the Deputy Director of the Water Development Department (ΤΑΥ), Elena Foinikaridou.

Additionally, 12 of the 13 desalination units granted by the United Arab Emirates are operating at the Moni power station, while the 14th is expected to arrive in Cyprus in September.

For Paphos, there has been a delay in the delivery of the permanent desalination unit in Kouklia, with completion expected at the end of September. However, actions are being taken to avoid water supply cuts.
