Apollon Limassol Association: Strong Reaction to "Insult" of Grigoris Afxentiou

The Apollon Limassol Association has expressed its strong indignation at the "distortion and insult of the sacrifice" of EOKA hero Grigoris Afxentiou in a statement. The statement refers to "specific circles" that seek to distort history.

The Association emphasizes that it will resist any attempt to defame the freedom fighters, stressing that "Grigoris Afxentiou remains an indelible symbol of the Resistance of Cypriot Hellenism."

The statement says that Afxentiou was and remains a symbol of self-sacrifice, patriotism and heroism, and that the "aspiring falsifiers" will not be able to extinguish the light he lit with his sacrifice.

The Apollon Association declares that it will stand against any attempt to defame the heroes and will not remain silent about the profiteering of history.
