Doctor-Patient Relationship: Importance and Trust

The information campaign by the Health Insurance Organisation (HIO), titled 'Take your health personally,' was successful. The aim was to highlight the role of the Personal Doctor and the relationship of trust with patients.

For six years, the institution of the Personal Doctor has been a pillar of the Health System, strengthening prevention and early treatment of diseases. Dr. Mary Avraamidou emphasized the importance of the trust relationship, while Dr. Anastasios Bagourdis stressed the need for visits instead of telephone communication.

Mr. Charalambos Papadopoulos emphasized the importance of a continuous and confidential relationship for a System based on prevention. The HIO continues its efforts to inform the public about rights and obligations.
