Shocking Video of the Destruction of the 181st Field Artillery Battalion in 1974

A shocking video discovered on Turkish websites and curated by Mr. Sotiris Savva from Trypimeni Ammochostos, presents the painful scenes of the destruction of the 181st Field Artillery Battalion (FAB) during the Turkish invasion in 1974.

The video records the aftermath of the July 23, 1974 attack, including destroyed vehicles and equipment, as well as scenes of people being arrested by Turkish soldiers.

The 181st FAB suffered significant losses, with five dead, 39 missing, and 48 captured. The destruction occurred 24 hours after the ceasefire, when a column of the 181st FAB and the 191st POP came under heavy fire from the 35th Parachute Battalion in the "Latsin" area.

According to testimonies, the Battalion did not receive support, resulting in severe casualties. Scenes from occupied National Guard camps and occupied Nicosia are also included in the video.
