The 48-hour strike by Larnaca Public Transport workers continues for a second day, leaving the city of Larnaca without buses. The unions ΟΜΕΠΕΓΕ-ΣΕΚ, ΣΕΓΔΑΜΕΛΙΝ-ΠΕΟ and ΔΕΕ ΕΜΠΟΡΙΚΩΝ ΔΕΟΚ are waiting for the Ministry of Labour to intervene so that the company adheres to the agreement that has been made.

The General Secretary of ΣΕΓΔΑΜΕΛΙΝ ΠΕΟ, Nadia Kyritsi, stated that a general assembly of workers will be held to assess the progress of the strike and decide on the next steps.

Cyprus Public Transport (CPT) expressed its disappointment with the strike, calling it "incomprehensible and counterproductive," and called for dialogue. The CEO of CPT, Julio Tironi, stressed the company's commitment to passengers and employees, highlighting the improved working conditions and wage increases that have been given.

CPT maintains that the Ministry of Labour has not reported any violation of the collective agreement and that the company remains open to dialogue.
