Taliadoros: Problems in schools – Meeting with the Minister on Tuesday

The President of OELMEK, Dimitris Taliadoros, stated that there are problems in schools, mainly due to administrative understaffing and staff transfers. OELMEK will meet with the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, on Tuesday, September 2nd, to discuss the new teacher evaluation plan.

Mr. Taliadoros mentioned that approximately 25% of schools are administratively understaffed and that appointments are made at the last minute, creating problems in the smooth operation of schools. He also expressed concerns about the transfers of secretarial staff.

Teachers return to schools on Monday, while classes begin on September 5th. Mr. Taliadoros wished students and teachers a good school year.
