Although extreme temperatures like the 45 degrees Celsius of previous days are not expected, the mercury will flirt with 40 degrees in inland Cyprus next week. According to Meteorological Officer Panagiotis Georgiou, a drop in temperature is expected in the last week of August.

Mr. Georgiou stated that the weather will be mainly clear in the coming days, with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius inland, 30-33 on the coast and 29 in the mountains. Similar temperatures are expected on Monday and Tuesday.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the temperature may increase by one degree, reaching 38-39 degrees, while towards the end of the week it may approach 40 degrees Celsius inland. Mr. Georgiou ruled out the possibility of isolated rains in the mountains.
