Department of Environment/DAFR: Actions Taken Regarding Peyeia Party

The Department of Environment and the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research (DAFR) responded to the Audit Office regarding the outdoor event in Agios Georgios Peyeias, stating that all due actions were taken.

In a joint statement, the Departments noted that they took "all necessary precautionary measures" to prevent threats due to the proximity to Toxeftra beach and the lighting that could affect nesting.

The Departments emphasize that there was no negligence or delay in their actions and express regret for the presentation of the issue by the Audit Office prior to official notification.
