Forest Department Accepts Audit Service Recommendations

The Forest Department announced that it has taken the recommendations of the Audit Service seriously and has already taken steps to improve the procedures for promoting new construction projects and monitoring related contracts.
Furthermore, the Forest Department has promoted further training of staff on contract management issues.
According to the announcement, the projects under review in the Akamas National Forest Park area were designed after long-term efforts to reconcile the positions of various Services and Ministries.
The Forest Department notes that efforts are being made to restart the First Phase of the project with a reduced environmental footprint, provided that the necessary approvals are obtained from the environmental Authority.
