Forest Department on Alert for Fires – Excursion Site Availability

The Forest Department is on alert, conducting continuous patrols to prevent fires, as stated to CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY by the Department's Press Officer, Giorgos Konstantinou.

Mr. Konstantinou appealed to picnickers to be careful and use only designated areas for lighting charcoal. He also urged residents of holiday homes to avoid burning wood for grilling and to ensure that the charcoal is extinguished before leaving.

The Forest Department will issue an announcement regarding the availability of excursion sites. Availability exists at the Platania, Kampos tou Livadiou, Mesa Potamou, Trooditissa, Fraktis tou Xyliatou, Pasia Livadi, Armyrolivado, Kampi tou Kalogirou, Agia Paraskevi, Kakomallis, Kapoura, Fraktis tou Prodromou, Marathos, and Xerarkaka excursion sites (Troodos Forest District).

In the Paphos Forest District, the Mavralis site is full, while availability exists at the Timi, Komititzis, Xystaroudas, Pykni, Smigies, Monasiilaka, Agias, Pera Vasas, Ranti, Stavros Psokas, and Livadi sites.

In the Nicosia, Larnaca, and Famagusta Forest District, availability exists at the Mantra tou Kampiou, Delikipos, Kornos, Oroklini, Rizaelia National Forest Park, Dasaki Achnas, Agios Antonios, Agioi Anargyroi, Agios Nikandros, and Athalassa Parks.
