Turkish Flags in Nicosia: What Charalambos Prountzos Said

Turkish flags appeared in Lellos Demetriades Square, in the center of Nicosia, raising questions.

The Mayor of Nicosia, Charalambos Prountzos, stated that the presence of the flags is due to the filming of a Greek-Cypriot film, which has been licensed by the municipality.

The purpose of the filming is to recreate an occupied Sarajevo square. The Mayor stressed the need for proper signage to avoid confusion among the public, and added that the issue has been resolved by the Municipality.
