The Police have submitted three recommendations regarding the management of fires and crises, as stated in their report on the deadly fire in the Limassol District. These recommendations aim to improve coordination and information dissemination during such situations.

Specifically, the Police recommend:

  • Restricting access to the forward Command Station to individuals who do not have an active role in extinguishing the fire or managing the crisis.
  • Information to be disseminated by a single press representative, who will represent all involved services.
  • A revision of the Special National Plan «PYRSOS».

The report was submitted by the Chief of Police, Themistoklis Arnaoutis, to the President of the Republic, following a meeting held on July 27, 2025. The report emphasizes that the Police took measures to secure the areas affected by the fire, protect citizens, and evacuate villages.

The Limassol CID is investigating the causes of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the death of the Filippidis couple.

In total, 145 members of the Police worked on the firefighting operation, and 54 vehicles were used. The Limassol Police Directorate was reinforced with personnel from various services, including the Traffic Headquarters, MMAD, the Larnaca Police Directorate, and the Port and Maritime Police.
