Three Elderly Hospitalized with Heatstroke – Increased Visits to ER

Three elderly individuals are hospitalized with severe heatstroke at Nicosia General Hospital due to the prolonged heatwave, according to OKYpY spokesperson Charalambos Charilaou.
The patients include a 72-year-old man and two women aged 73 and 90. They were transported from their homes with severe symptoms. Their health condition is considered serious but stable, with signs of improvement.
The Accident and Emergency Departments (ER) are receiving an increased number of patients with symptoms of heat exhaustion, dehydration, and sunburns. Most cases involve elderly people.
The public is urged to be careful, avoid sun exposure, and stay hydrated.
