Vafeadis: I was unaware of the problem in Aglantzia

The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, stated that he was unaware of the problem with illegal racing in Aglantzia, where one of the two fatal accidents on Tuesday occurred. The Police are investigating the circumstances of the accidents and will inform the Road Safety Council if deemed necessary.

When asked about letters received by the Traffic Police from the Deputy Mayor of Aglantzia regarding the road's danger and illegal racing, Mr. Vafeadis replied that he had no relevant information. He pledged to study the matter and discuss possible actions.

The Minister also commented that it should be examined whether the Traffic Police should provide more immediate information and take more drastic decisions regarding traffic accidents.
