Violanta: Road Works and Propane Leak Reports

Authorities are investigating the cause of the propane leak at the Violanta factory, with a primary scenario examining road works carried out during the summer. According to Vasilis Lambropoulos, these works may have caused a crack in a propane pipe due to the weight of materials and machinery.

Employees reported a gas odor in the factory for several months, but no action was taken. Six to seven employees testified about the odor to the Fire Department. An assistant shift supervisor testified that he had informed the Security Manager about the odor, but there was no response.

Investigations are ongoing, prioritizing safety and preventing another explosion. The propane tanks must be emptied before work can begin to repair the pipe.
