Rain and Temperature Rise in Cyprus

A weak low pressure system is affecting the Cyprus region. Today, the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy with possible isolated showers, mainly in the mountains and the eastern half of the island. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible. The winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, with temporary strengthening on the west and south coasts.

The temperature will rise to around 20 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts, and around 8 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains. Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear with locally increased low clouds on the coasts. The temperature will drop to around 10 degrees Celsius inland, around 13 on the coasts, and around 4 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains, where frost may form locally.

On Wednesday, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the mountains and inland. On Thursday and Friday, the weather will be generally clear. The temperature will gradually rise until Friday. The snow height in Chionistra is 15 centimeters.
