Rain and Snow on Christmas Eve, Storms on Christmas Day

A weak high pressure system will temporarily affect the region until Friday. Low pressure is expected gradually from Saturday.
Today, Christmas Eve, the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy with isolated showers, especially after noon. Sleet or snow may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. The winds will be mainly northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The temperature will rise to around 19 degrees inland, around 21 on the coast and around 9 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will remain partly cloudy with possible isolated showers, mainly in coastal areas. The temperature will drop to around 10 degrees inland, around 12 on the coast and around 4 degrees in the higher mountains, where local frost is expected.
On Thursday, Christmas Day, local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, especially during the afternoon and later. Hail is possible during thunderstorms. From late afternoon onwards, the weather will improve temporarily.
On Friday and Saturday, the weather will be intermittently mostly cloudy with isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly after noon. The temperature is not expected to change significantly.
