Thousands in Nicosia Without Water Due to Network Damage

Thousands of residents in Nicosia are still experiencing water supply problems following damage to the network. Despite repair work, restoring the water supply to normal is taking time.

According to the Deputy Director of the Water Development Department, Elena Foinikaridou, the damage was repaired on August 28th. However, due to successive damages, full service to consumers is delayed.

Complaints about water cuts continue, mainly from the areas of Lakatamia and Anageia. Residents express their inconvenience and lack of clear answers.

The Nicosia District Self-Government Organisation reports that the water pressure remains low to avoid further damage. According to Mr. Parmaklis, the pressure is gradually increasing. The Nicosia District Self-Government Organisation estimates that the water supply will be fully restored by tonight and the pressure will stabilize in the coming days.
