Christodoulides: Transparency on Limassol Fire and US Assistance

President Christodoulides is taking steps to improve the fire response mechanism following the fire in mountainous Limassol. These include the publication of reports from the involved services and the arrival of an ATF expert team from the USA.

Specifically, the action reports of the Police, Fire Service, Civil Defense, and Department of Forests were published, aiming for transparency and recording any gaps that existed.

At the same time, assistance was requested from American experts from the ATF, who are considered specialized in fire investigation. The team of ten experts will analyze the data and propose improvements to state mechanisms.

The goal is to create a roadmap for the evolution and effectiveness of state mechanisms in responding to similar situations.
