Rain and Snow in Troodos on Christmas Day – Weather Update

A weak high pressure system is affecting the region of Cyprus. Today, on Christmas Day, the weather will be partly cloudy with local rain and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and early evening.

Hail may fall during thunderstorms, and snow or sleet is expected on the highest peaks of Troodos. The winds will be light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise to 19 degrees Celsius inland, around 20 degrees Celsius on the coast, and 12 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains. Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy with possible frost in the mountains.

On Friday and Saturday, isolated rain and thunderstorms are expected, with possible snow or sleet in Troodos. On Sunday, increased cloud cover and a drop in temperature are expected.
