New Hospital in Polis Chrysochous: Construction Timeline Set, Bids in 2026

Timelines for the construction of the new hospital in Polis Chrysochous have been announced, following a meeting at the Presidential Palace under President Nikos Christodoulides. According to the announcements, the call for tenders is expected in the second half of 2026, with project completion two years later.

The Mayor of Polis Chrysochous, Giotis Papachristofi, stated that OKYPY presented the plans for the new hospital at the meeting. He also expressed hope that the timelines would be adhered to, so that the hospital can serve the needs of the region for the coming decades.

DISY MP, Charalambos Pazaros, mentioned that the call for tenders is expected in September 2026, with completion scheduled for September 2028. MPs Valentinos Fakontis (AKEL), Chrysanthos Savvidis (DIKO), and Ilias Myrianthous (EDEK) welcomed the decision and expressed their support for the project's implementation. Mr. Myrianthous stated that the new hospital will include a dialysis unit, an obstetrics and pediatrics clinic, and a trauma rehabilitation unit.
