60% of Volissos, Chios Without Power After Fire

60% of Volissos in Chios remains without electricity following the recent fire. Firefighters, volunteers, and residents battled the flames in the Kambia area, aiming to contain the spread of the fire and protect the Leptopoda and Keramos areas.

According to government MP Notis Mitarakis, DEDDIE crews have restored 40% of the power supply in the area. Furthermore, teams from the Ministry of Climate Crisis are expected to arrive on Saturday to assess the damage and begin paying compensation to those affected.

Fire service officials expressed cautious optimism about controlling the fire.
