Pilot Implementation of Technical Gymnasium in Cyprus

The Technical Gymnasium is being implemented for the first time in Cyprus' educational system on a pilot basis, according to the Minister of Education, Athina Michaelidou.

In a post on 'X', Ms. Michaelidou emphasized that the implementation of the Technical Gymnasium strengthens Technical and Vocational Education. The aim is to familiarize students early on with technical professions and new technologies.

Students will acquire practical knowledge and skills, helping them in their subsequent choices, while discovering their inclinations and understanding the world of work.

The Minister stressed that the implementation of this educational policy is necessary due to the low participation rates in Technical and Vocational Education and the skills mismatch.

Ms. Michaelidou concluded that this investment aims at the all-round development of children.
