Kato Pyrgos Tillirias Dam Overflows

The Kato Pyrgos Tillirias dam has overflowed, as announced by the president of the community complex and community leader of K. Pyrgos Tillirias, Nikos Kleanthous. He expressed his satisfaction with the event, especially after the cleaning works completed three months ago.

According to Mr. Kleanthous, 90,000 cubic meters of alluvial materials were removed, significantly increasing the dam's capacity. He thanked the government, the President of the Republic, and the Ministry of Agriculture for responding to the cleaning request, as well as the EOA Lefkosias for the successful completion of the project.

The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed the overflow via a social media post, emphasizing that this image demonstrates the importance of planning, collaboration, and political will. Additionally, the strengthening of irrigation projects for 2025 with €1.15 million was announced.
