Consumer Protection Service: Caution on Travel Insurance

The Consumer Protection Service advises travelers to pay close attention to insurance when entering into an organized travel contract. Insufficient information has been found regarding optional travel insurance and its content.
Travelers have the right to full and clear pre-contractual information from travel agents. The Service recommends that they request detailed information before booking and be informed about the types of insurance coverage, such as loss of luggage, flight delay or cancellation, cancellation costs, repatriation, medical care or accident abroad.
Travel agents are required to provide adequate and substantial information to consumers before entering into the contract, in accordance with the Organized Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Law of 2017.
