Forest Fire Under Control in Mathiatis Area

The Department of Forests announced that a forest fire broke out today, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 15:06, in the area of the community of Mathiatis, Nicosia district.

The intervention of the fire extinguishing forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under full control at 15:22. The fire burned an area of 1.5 decares covered with dry grass.

11 people from the Department of Forests participated in the extinguishing operation with three fire trucks. The causes of the fire are under investigation.
