Fire in Tsada Under Control – Swift Response Averted the Worst

The fire that broke out in the Tsada area has been brought under control, prompting an alert from the authorities. Firefighting forces are carrying out final extinguishing operations and remain on standby.

Thirteen aerial assets are on operational readiness, and nine were involved in fighting the fire. The Ministers of Defence, Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, as well as the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, were present at the JRCC.

A partial and precautionary evacuation of 25 residences in Tsada was carried out, according to Panagiotis Liasidis, Press Representative of the Civil Defence. No evacuation was required in Koili. The Civil Defence assisted with 25 personnel, preventing damage to homes.

The main road Paphos – Polis Chrysochous has reopened, while the road to Koili remains closed. Police officers are at the locations.
