Forest Fires Under Control in Lysos and Drouseia, Paphos

Forest fires that broke out in the areas of Lysos and Drouseia communities in the Paphos district were brought under full control on Friday.
According to an announcement by the Department of Forests, the fire in the Lysos community broke out at 15:58 near the Prophet Elias church and was brought under control at 16:20, having burned 0.5 hectares of wild vegetation. 7 people from the Department of Forests participated with 2 fire trucks.
The fire in the Drouseia community broke out at 16:23 at the Manierides - Lassi location and was brought under full control at 16:30, with the participation of 5 people from the Department of Forests, 1 fire truck and 4 leased aircraft from the Air Firefighting Squadron.
The causes of the fires are under investigation.
