Interior Ministry Investigates Beach Massages and Spas

The Ministry of Interior is investigating massage and wellness services offered on beaches. Minister Konstantinos Ioannou referenced the legislation in a letter to Parliament.

According to the letter, the municipalities of Akamas and Larnaca have granted relevant permits, while in the municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia, isolated cases of providing such services without a permit were identified.

The Minister of Interior states that the introduction of stricter regulations for the provision of services on the beaches, including spa and massage services, is being considered, as the existing legislative framework does not adequately cover them. The ministry is in consultation to modernize the legislation.
