Share on:

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (ΥΠΑΝ) has issued a clarification regarding student absences. According to the Amending Law of 2025 on Primary and Secondary Education (Compulsory Attendance and Free Education) and other relevant laws, parents/guardians are required to immediately inform the school of their child's absence.

Notification should be given the day before or on the morning of the absence, even if it is only for one day or a few hours. Schools will inform parents about communication methods.

If no notification is received, the school will contact the parents. If communication is not possible, the Police will be called at 8:45 AM for further action.
