Cabinet Approves Marine Science School in Larnaca

The Council of Ministers has approved the establishment of the Public University School of Marine Sciences, Technology and Sustainable Development of the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) in Larnaca. The Deputy Minister to the President, Mrs. Irene Piki, stated that the decision is part of the Government's strategy to strengthen higher education and academic decentralization.

The new school will focus on areas related to marine science, technological innovation and sustainable development. The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth is authorized to submit the 2025 amending law and related regulations to Parliament.

Mrs. Piki emphasized that the establishment of the school marks a new chapter for university education and the development of Larnaca, promoting Cyprus as a regional center of excellence.
