High Dust Levels: Recommendations for Public Protection

High concentrations of dust are recorded in the atmosphere today, according to the Department of Labor Inspection. Measurements from ground stations of the Air Quality Monitoring Network show increased levels.
The public, especially vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and patients, are advised to avoid being outdoors. Employers must take measures to protect their employees, in accordance with the Safety and Health at Work Decree of 2022.
The latest hourly dust concentration values at 08:00 a.m. were: Nicosia 44.4 μg/m3, Limassol 132.6 μg/m3, Larnaca 79.3 μg/m3, Paralimni 82.8 μg/m3, Paphos 180.2 μg/m3, Zygi 126.3 μg/m3, and Agia Marina Xyliatou 178.6 μg/m3.
