Strong winds have caused problems and material damage in the occupied areas of Cyprus, according to the Turkish Cypriot press.

On the occupied Nicosia - Kyrenia road, in the Bogazi area, the winds damaged traffic lights. One traffic light detached, causing traffic problems until it was repaired.

Damage was also reported at the stadium in occupied Kioneli during a football match, where the perimeter wire mesh around the playing area tilted.

The "meteorological service" warned that the winds will continue until Sunday noon, reaching 62-74 km/h, and 8 Beaufort at sea. Caution was advised for floods, hail and lightning.
