Annita Demetriou: Unity Can Lead Cyprus to Its Future

The President of the Democratic Rally (DISY), Annita Demetriou, in her speech in Troulloi for the EOKA anniversary, emphasized the need for unity and responsibility for the future of Cyprus.
Ms. Demetriou referred to the sacrifices of the EOKA fighters and called on young people to take an active role in modern challenges, transferring the values of the past to the present. She criticized populism and stressed the importance of consistency between words and actions.
She reiterated that the resolution of the Cyprus issue, with a free and reunified Cyprus without occupying troops and guarantees, remains a top priority. She clarified that there can be no cooperation with Turkey as long as the occupation of European territory continues.
In closing, she called for a united front in view of the upcoming political contests, expressing her belief that with unity and hard work, Cyprus can win its future.
