A. Theodosiou: I Never Referred to a Lack of Coordination Regarding the Fires

The Commissioner for Environment and Animal Welfare, Antonia Theodosiou, clarifies that she never referred to a lack of coordination regarding the recent fires, refuting related publications.

In her statement, Ms. Theodosiou refers to publications attributing to her criticism of an alleged lack of coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment and the competent services during a joint session of Parliamentary Committees.

The Commissioner emphasizes that her statement was made in front of many people and any contrary claim is false. She points out that her office responded immediately with a detailed note to the President of the Republic, the Minister of Agriculture, and the Deputy Minister of European Affairs, submitting findings and recommendations.

Ms. Theodosiou expresses her dissatisfaction with the fact that some are trying to politically exploit her answer to a question about whether a personal meeting took place with the Minister of Agriculture and the Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Environment.

Finally, she reiterates that her cooperation with all Departments, Services and Ministries is continuous and documented by written notes.
