Adonis Georgiadis: Dialogue with Union Representatives in Ioannina on the National Healthcare System

The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, visited Ioannina, where he inaugurated the new CT scanner of the University General Hospital and inspected the works at the Emergency Departments (ED).

During the visit, Mr. Georgiadis met with union representatives and, as he states in a post, chose not to avoid them, but to discuss with them publicly in the hospital's amphitheater.

According to the Minister, the dialogue took place in a calm atmosphere, with him responding to the union representatives' grievances and refuting their claims. Mr. Georgiadis published a video of the dialogue, emphasizing that in the end, the union representatives were forced to applaud him, although there were some disapprovals as well.

The Minister of Health stated that the budget of PGN Ioannina has increased by 100% since 2019, while the staff has increased by 30%. He also mentioned that waiting times in the ED and for surgeries have been reduced.
