Uncleaned Land Plots: New Deadlines, Declarations, and Fines

New regulations regarding the cleaning of land plots are included in a bill by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection. The changes concern deadlines, declarations, and fines.

Key changes:

• Deadlines: Owners are required to ensure the cleaning of land plots from April 1st to June 15th each year.
• Declaration: Mandatory submission of a declaration to the National Registry of Maintaining Preventive Fire Protection Measures for Properties by June 15th.
• Fines: In case of non-cleaning, the fine amounts to up to 2,500 euros. For false declarations, a fine of 5,000 euros and imprisonment of at least 6 months are foreseen.

Municipalities inform those responsible by May 31st and conduct sample checks from June 1st to October 31st.

The Fire Department conducts inspections following complaints.
