AKEL: Loukaidis and Damianou Exempted from Term Limit

AKEL's Central Committee has decided to exempt Giorgos Loukaidis and Aristos Damianou from the term limit, allowing them to participate in the 2026 parliamentary election process. The decision was made after a secret ballot.

MP Andros Kavkalias expressed his desire not to continue in Parliament.

AKEL aims to have its ballot ready before the end of November, with local assemblies and electoral conferences preceding it.

It is noted that AKEL's District Secretaries and District Organizational Secretaries cannot be candidates for parliamentary elections after the statutory amendment of 2023.
