Akıncı: «Retaliatory act reminiscent of the past» regarding the «arrest» of Greek Cypriots

Former Turkish Cypriot leader, Mustafa Akıncı, described the «arrest» of five Greek Cypriots in the occupied area of Trikomo as an act of «retaliation» through his intervention on social media (SMM).
Akıncı linked the incident to the case of Panikos Tsiakourmas in 2000, where Turkey was condemned by the ECHR for human rights violations, stressing that an entity seeking recognition cannot use retaliatory methods.
He characteristically stated that there is a logic of «an eye for an eye» and a mentality of 'if you arrest one of our contractors, we will respond in kind'.
